Oscilloscope Modules and Add-Ons

Add-ons are available for oscilloscopes in order to extend their functionality:

Optical-Electrical (O/E) converters - O/E converters are used in optical communication applications where you need to measure optical signal characteristices. Oscilloscopes need an electrical input signal so these convertors are ideal for this task.

Signal generators - signal generator modules for oscilloscopes typically provide a function generator, waveform generator, and modulation generator in the same package. Some oscilloscopes offer this built-in while others do not.

Triggers - Common trigger modules include video triggering, for decoding video signals such as NTSC, PAL, SECAM; and CAN Bus trigger modules for the auto market.

Data storage, communication and printing - Typical data I/O add-ons for oscilloscopes include: removable hard drives, memory cards, PC/Ethernet/telecom adapters, graphics printers, strip chart recorders, data loggers and software.
